A user journey is a series of steps (typically 4-12) that show how might a user will interact with service , website or product.
The user journey comes after personas and task scenarios. when you done of all these tasks , you will have a lot of input that help you to understand your user’s goals
, their motivations, their current pain points, their overall character, and the main tasks they want to achieve. then, you can create the user journey.
The benefits of user journeys:
1- Show the vision for the project.
2- Help us understand user behavior.
3- Help you define your taxonomy, interface and possible functionality.
After all these you will now understand about your users and what they are trying to achieve. also know about how they want to go about achieving it. Now you can start the next step.
